For all follow-up reservations, it’s best to come with your treatment area shaved, this allows the laser to target the follicle more effectively! Be sure to avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning beds or lotions leading up to your reservation as this can negatively impact the results. Lastly on the day of, avoid all skin care products including makeup, oils or lotions on the area.

You can expect to see a more drastic reduction in hair growth as you progress through your laser hair removal treatments. IPL uses broad-spectrum light with multiple wavelengths, while our lasers use a single concentrated beam of light & higher energy levels which allows for deeper penetration into the follicle, resulting in a more precise and targeted treatment. In addition, our lasers are more suitable for a wider range of skin tones and hair colors than IPL. Our lasers can effectively target a broad spectrum of skin tones and hair colors due to the specific wavelength used, while IPL can only target darker hair on light skin.

There are several situations which may prevent you from being a good laser candidate at this time, including the below. During your free consultation, one of our laser specialists will help you develop a personalized hair removal regiment to meet your needs.

1. Last dose of Accutane has been within 6 months.  
2. Last dose of any other photosensitive oral medications (including acne, antibiotic) has been within 2 weeks.  
3. Sun exposure for 2 weeks pre-treatment and post treatment.  
4. Waxing, tweezing, or using depilatory creams within 3-4 weeks prior to treatment.  
5. Last application of retinol or more specifically Retain-A within 2 weeks.  
6. Cannot laser over any open wound.  
7. Cannot laser if you are pregnant.  
8. Cannot laser over tattoos but can laser around them.  
9. Generally, guests with very light blonde, red or gray hair, waxing is the preferred method of hair removal – a consultation with the laser expert will help determine eligibility.

This will depend on each individual’s hair type. Most people that receive laser hair removal treatment enjoy long-lasting results with incredibly minimal hair growth, while some people may not experience any hair growth at all after six sessions. Depending on your hair type or if you’ve experienced a life event like pregnancy or recent hormonal changes, touch ups may be required to tame unwanted hair.

In order to target each hair follicle while it’s in the growth phase, we recommend spacing out each treatment approximately six to eight weeks apart.

For your initial consultation, it’s best if your hair remains untouched. For all following reservations, please arrive with the treatment area shaved! This will allow the laser to pinpoint the hair follicle more effectively.

• Apply a cool compress to soothe any temporary discomfort 
• Avoid the gym, hot tubs, sauna, and sweating 48 hours after treatment 
• Avoid harsh scrubs, exfoliants, and abrasive skincare products
• Apply sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30 to protect your skin 
• Don’t pluck or use depilatory creams in between sessions
